August Bank Holiday Weekend in Windsor

The last long weekend before Christmas is less than two weeks away, so make sure you don’t waste the August Bank Holiday Weekend by leaving your plans to the last minute. To help you decide how to spend that precious extra day out the office, we’ve come up with our favourite ways to spend the August Bank Holiday Weekend in Windsor:

The Maidenhead Beach

Norden Farm in nearby Maidenhead has transformed into an exotic Hawaiian Beach for the Summer. You can relax at the beachside café, explore the shore and the Hawaiian canoe, or make friends with the resident shark – if you’re brave enough! Norden Farm will also be screening family favourite movies throughout the Summer, and this August Bank Holiday Weekend Lightning McQueen will be taking the limelight in Cars 3, tickets are still available and can be bought online here.

Boyzone at Royal Windsor Racecourse

90s pop fans are in for a treat this August Bank Holiday Weekend as Boyzone are playing Royal Windsor Racecourse Season Finale Raceday on Saturday 26th August. The much loved boy band have sold twenty five million records over the last 24 years and are still going strong. Tickets are still available for the race day and it is guaranteed to be a great day out for all the family.

Totem Pole Challenge

Throughout the Summer holidays, the Windsor and Royal Borough Museum is holding a Totem Pole Challenge. Get creative with the kids and take them along over the August Bank Holiday Weekend to decorate the museums totem pole collection, whether it’s a forest animal or a winged beast your little ones are sure to love it.

Walk the Thames Trail

Get out and about in nature this August Bank Holiday Weekend and follow England’s most famous river through peaceful water meadows, historical towns and cities, and unspoilt rural villages. Completing the whole trail will take you a whopping 14 days, but you can enjoy a smaller section of the trail as it passes through Windsor and Eton.

Afternoon Tea on the Thames

Spend the August Bank Holiday Weekend enjoying the British custom of high tea by the picturesque River Thames. The Brasserie at Sir Christopher Wren features a stunning riverside terrace, and large windows looking out to the river so you can enjoy the views whatever the weather. The delicious Afternoon Tea includes homemade scones, pastries, finger sandwiches and unlimited Darvilles of Windsor teas. If you’re celebrating something special then upgrade to a Champagne Afternoon Tea and spoil yourself with a glass of chilled bubbly. Tables fill up very fast in The Brasserie so be sure to book a table to avoid disappointment, you can book your table online here or call us on 01753 202825.
