With the current Coronavirus pandemic keeping us all indoors and our favourite spas closed for the foreseeable future, it is easy to miss our usual luxuries. If you are longing for some indulgence and pampering, there is no reason you can’t recreate your top beauty treatments from the comfort of your home. Our lovely therapists at Wren’s Club are missing working their magic on our customers, but have shared some of the best ways to make your very own at home spa experience.
Rejuvenating Body Scrub
Regularly exfoliating your skin is vital for removing dead skis and keeping skin bright and clear. You can easily create a nourishing and rejuvenating body scrub at home with ingredients you are likely to have in the kitchen cupboard. Make a blend of brown sugar and olive oil, using around double the amount of brown sugar to oil. If you have some Manuka honey, then this is great to add to treat dry skin, whereas adding citrus essential oils will bring a delicious scent.
A steam facial is the perfect way to cleanse pores and promote healthy, glowing skin. To do this effective treatment at home, fill a bowl with boiling water and leave to slightly cool. Add your favourite essential oils, we recommend lavender for oily skin or tea tree oil for banishing blemishes. Use a towel to cover your head and steam your face by leaning over the bowl, whilst being very careful with the boiling water. After steaming, apply your usual toner and moisturiser for clean, clear and nourished skin.
Relaxing in a nourishing milk bath is perfect for a real at home spa experience. The lactic acid in the milk will soften your skin and is also very soothing for those with irritated skin such as eczema or psoriasis. Run a warm bath and three cups of whole milk, along with some essential oils, honey and rose petals for a real luxurious treat.
Baths are great for relaxing, but if your home only has a shower you can still create a spa like experience. Pick some essential oils such as lavender or neroli, and put a few drops onto a damp sponge or flannel. Place it by your taps and as your enjoy a hot shower the steam will release the aromatherapy scents creating a perfect at home spa vibe.
A facial is one of the best ways to relax and unwind, and just because you can’t get to the salon doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy this treat at home. Begin by lightly exfoliating the skin using a blend of oatmeal and water. After this, create a soothing and moisturising at home mask using yoghurt, avocado and honey and leave it on the skin for 10 minutes. After washing off, finish up with a DIY facial massage by moving in gentle upward circular motions across the face with a natural oil such as jojoba or almond. This will help to boost circulation and nourish your complexion.
However you choose to treat yourself whilst at home, be sure to stay safe and look after one another during this unprecedented time. Our team at Wren’s Club will be back as soon as possible to continue treating you with wonderful beauty treatments and spa experiences.
