New Beginnings at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel

At Sir Christopher Wren, we are very proud of our beautiful property and location; from the hotel itself to its royal connections, the Castle, Eton, the Thames with its swans, and everything that attract our tourists worldwide.

Our mission is to do our fabulous hotel  justice at all times … by providing an amazing experience to our customers, delivered by our first-class team with real passion for amazing service.

On such note, we wish a warm welcome to our new starters, Natasha Howse and Charlotte Dixon, who recently joined our Front Office team. Both ladies come with a wealth of experience in customer care in the hospitality and restaurant industry. We are also thrilled to announce the appointment of Rebecca Kerwood as our new HR & Hotel Administrator. Rebecca has worked at the world-renowned V&A Museum and has great experience in an administrative role and a background in travel and tourism.

We would also like to take this  opportunity to wish Celeste Steyn the best in her future endeavours. Celeste has been an invaluable member of our team for almost 9 years, working tirelessly as Sir Christopher Wren’s Hotel Administrator. Before she left, Celeste sat with us for a small chat.

Celeste, where are you from? How long did you work for Sir Christopher Wren Hotel? What brought you to Windsor and made you stay?

I came to Windsor from South Africa in 2005 after being offered a position at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel and Spa, then Sir Christopher Wren’s House. Windsor is a very special place especially with its Royal connection, and I have been here since I first landed! My main reason for staying has been the opportunities I have been given to grow in my role, as well as my brilliant colleagues!

What tips would you give to a new starter to succeed and be happy?

Make sure you attend your training sessions; get to know your fellow employees; be someone your colleagues and manager can rely on; take the opportunities which are presented to you; and enjoy every day!

Which were your favourite moments at the hotel ?

All the Royal visits have been very special, and there have been quite a few in my time here. Seeing all my colleagues’ fancy dress costumes at staff parties has definitely been a highlight. Also, our most famous celebrity visit – Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz had lunch on our Thames View Restaurant riverside terrace!

If you were given a 60-second advert break during Super Bowl what would it show?

It would be me surrounded by hundreds of dogs and cupcakes.

What in your opinion makes Sir Christopher Wren Hotel and Spa special?

The property is very beautiful and the location cannot be beaten. The staff are great too!

What are your next steps?

My new role will be as an Office Manager, and whilst I will miss my current role, I am looking forward to the new challenges ahead!

We wish you the best of luck and a very happy future to all of our new starters!
