Newbury Culture Fest 2014
The beautiful town of Newbury – best known for its inspiring walks across the Berkshire Downs, superb fishing on the River Kennet, and year-round racing – is now growing in popularity for hosting the annual Culture Fest. Held within the grounds of the famous race course on 12th July, it has been proving increasingly popular since its inception in 2008.
This multi-cultural event has a fantastic atmosphere and a vibrancy that comes only from embracing the offerings of the many different countries on show. Why not enjoy the diverse worlds of Scottish, Street, South Indian and Egyptian belly dancing? Or, be enthralled by the Chinese Lion Dance performers. And especially, enjoy varied music, such as percussion drumming, Gael Music and Jamaican folk songs. Here at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel our lovely staff from around the world can advise you of their own personal favourites!
Experience different cultures by participating in the various workshops on offer and take the opportunity of purchasing some unusual gifts at the gift stalls. An explosion of aromas and smells will assault your senses with food tastings from cuisines from around the world, including foods from India, Pakistan, Japan, Malaysia and Jamaica.
Begin the wind down of your busy day with a Thai foot massage and an Indian head massage before returning to the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa for our Romance Package, which includes; accommodation, a bottle of Champagne and chocolates upon arrival, three course dinner with a bottle of house wine and a full English breakfast the morning after, all very reasonably priced.
