As we reflect on the last twelve months we always ask ourselves the same questions, ‘Where does the time fly’ and ‘What were the best moment of 2018’. We began 2018 full of excitement as we had a number of ongoing projects and upcoming events at the hotel and in Royal Windsor that we just couldn’t wait for. We have gathered our top moments of 2018 in Royal Windsor and Sir Christopher Wren Hotel which we would love to recap.
The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
The top of our list has got to be the biggest event in Windsor of 2018, the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan. On 19th May 2018, Windsor Castle hosted the wedding of the year as twenty nine million tuned in to the wedding across fifteen different broadcast and cable networks. The streets and shops were filled with tourists and Royal Family fans, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the happy couple. Since the Royal Wedding, Meghan and Harry announced they will be expecting their first child which is due to make an appearance in Spring 2019.
Sir Christopher Wren Passes Go! – Monopoly
In 2018, The Royal Windsor Monopoly board was released and we were finally able to tell you that Sir Christopher Wren is a property for you to buy – on the board of course. Throughout the year of 2018, Royal Windsor has welcomed many well-known visitors such as David and Victoria Beckham, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and Queen Victoria herself, but nothing excited us more when we welcomed the world famous Rich Uncle Pennybags, well known as Mr Monopoly. He spent the day visiting us at Sir Christopher Wren; you can see what he got up to during the day here. You will sure to able to find the Royal Windsor themed Monopoly game in shops in Windsor or online here.
New wedding and meeting spaces at Sir Christopher Wren
We know how important it is for the bride and groom to find the best venue for their wedding. This is why we have extended our wedding event space onto our terrace. Our beautiful riverside terrace is now licensed for civil ceremonies so you can tie the knot overlooking the stunning Thames and watch elegant swans glide down the river – perfect for a summer ceremony. On our terrace we have introduced a beautiful pergola, to keep you under the shade and is perfect for an altar. Not only that, we have built a brand new event suite, Windsor Lounge. Brand new bedrooms
Sir Christopher Wren Hotel has undergone some intense renovation over 2017 and 2018 and has gone from 98 bedrooms to 139. In 2018 we release brand new bedrooms in many different room categories. We realeased a brand new bedroom category called Signature Rooms, all named after locations near Windsor, such as Boveney and Ascot. All our Signature Rooms has something that makes it unique, whether it is a separate lounge area, private balcony on the River Thames, or large living space and stunning views. All Signature Rooms offer high-tech amenities including iPod docks, Nespresso coffee machines, and Digital TVs, perfect for the everyday traveller.
