Having seen the town from both the river and road viewpoint, what better way to explore than a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the Royal Landscape. View the scenic Windsor Great Park in a beautiful Victorian carriage, once used by the Queen’s Equerry and Horsemaster. A visit to Windsor wouldn’t be complete without visiting the world’s oldest and largest inhabited castle. Official residence of HRH, you can view the changing of the guard, state apartments and the burial place of previous monarchs. Amongst historical royal memorabilia is Queen Mary’s Dolls House, a fine example of craftsmanship.
Other areas of interest are a tour of Eton College, founded in 1440 by King Henry VI, you will often see students clad in the well-known uniform of pin-striped trousers and black tailcoats walking around town. Savill Garden, one of England’s finest woodland and ornamental gardens offers 35 acres of the worlds’ most decorative plants, well worth a visit.
